What’s this all about?
I purchased Dani Valent’s “In The Mix” through my Thermomix consultant recently. One of my neighbours had told me about it – and I ordered it as soon as she mentioned it. She’s quite the foodie – I knew that the first time she came into my house and saw my Thermomix, looked at it longingly and said – – “Oh, you’ve got a Thermomix, I’m soooooo jealous!!”
I was not disappointed in the slightest when the book arrived – an amazing looking collection of recipes – and so beautifully photographed. Within an hour I had marked the pages of about 20 things I wanted to cook immediately, and there wasn’t really anything in there that I didn’t want to try. So, that got me to thinking – with a bit of spare time up my sleeve, why couldn’t I try to make them all?
In a rush of excitement, I emailed Dani and told her of my plan. Did I need her permission? Did she want me to mention her book? I was thrilled to receive a response within a few hours – even more impressive when Dani herself was on her way to France where “In The Mix” had been shortlisted in the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards!
Dani also has a great Facebook page that you can get news on the book, the app for your iPhone and all manner of thermomix news. You can find that at:
http://facebook.com/InTheMixGreatThermomixRecipes
So, what I plan to do is to make each of the recipes – not necessarily in order, and in no particular rush – and tell you how I found them to make, any tips or tricks I can think of to make the preparation easier or cleaner, and what the tasters thought of them.
