I purchased Dani Valent’s “In The Mix” through my Thermomix consultant recently. One of my neighbours had told me about it – and I ordered it as soon as she mentioned it. She’s quite the foodie – I knew that the first time she came into my house and saw my Thermomix, looked at it longingly and said – – “Oh, you’ve got a Thermomix, I’m soooooo jealous!!”
I was not disappointed in the slightest when the book arrived – an amazing looking collection of recipes – and so beautifully photographed. Within an hour I had marked the pages of about 20 things I wanted to cook immediately, and there wasn’t really anything in there that I didn’t want to try. So, that got me to thinking – with a bit of spare time up my sleeve, why couldn’t I try to make them all?
In a rush of excitement, I emailed Dani and told her of my plan. Did I need her permission? Did she want me to mention her book? I was thrilled to receive a response within a few hours – even more impressive when Dani herself was on her way to France where “In The Mix” has been shortlisted in the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards! You can join the Facebook page to hear the updates on that at:
So, what I plan to do is to make each of the recipes – not necessarily in order, and in no particular rush – and tell you how I found them to make, any tips or tricks I can think of to make the preparation easier or cleaner, and what the tasters thought of them.
